About Josh

Josh Menning grew up in Northeastern Ohio in a small town located in Columbiana County—East Palestine. After graduating from high school, he attended Kent State University and graduated with an associate and bachelor’s degree in Computer Design and Animation Engineering Technology.

Josh and his wife, Danielle, were married in 2010. Together, they started a wedding photography business the following Spring.

Josh and his wife have two daughters, Tenley and Blakely, and a son, Kenton. They reside in Columbiana County in the village of Leetonia.

Gretchen's Lock (2015)

In 2015, Josh founded a video production company specializing in handcrafted business films. Enjoying a taste of the film industry already, he soon he grew a desire to write, produce and direct an independent film. That first film became Gretchen’s Lock, which proved popular after selling out two shows at a local theater.

Unwavering (2017)

With the success of his first short film empowering him, he continued on and wrote, produced and directed his first feature film, Unwavering. That film won numerous awards at the 2017 Christian Film Festival and is being distributed worldwide by Adler & Associates Entertainment.

Beverly Hills Bandits (2018)

Josh to co-directed and filmed a movie with Vitaliy Versace, Beverly Hills Bandits, in Los Angeles and San Diego.

The film features Academy Award nominee, Eric Roberts.

Gateway to Hope: Overcoming Heroin (2018)

After a conversation about the rising heroin epidemic in the country with John Smith, a published author and producer, and Josh Lytle, president of Family Care Ministries, the trio began filming a documentary titled Gateway to Hope: Overcoming Heroin. The three worked on the documentary for a year and a half, and the film premiered in Spring 2018. The documentary was shown in theaters and churches across the nation. Josh was nominated for Best Director for a Documentary at the 2019 International Christian Film & Music festival.

Beast of Our Fathers (2019)

Crossing into a new genre, Josh filmed and released psychological thriller Beast of Our Fathers in 2019.

Song of the Tree Frogs (2019)

Josh filmed a faith-based drama based on the novel Song of the Tree Frogs by J.W. Kitson. That film features well-known award-winning actors in the faith-based movie, such as Karen Abercrombie (War Room) and Shannen Fields (Facing the Giants). The film has been nominated and won several awards in various film festivals across the U.S. and Canada.

An Angelic Christmas (2022)

Menning teamed up with actress and producer, Karen Abercrombie, to create a Pure Flix original film titled An Angelic Christmas.

Angel Mine (2023)

Menning directed and produced Angel Mine, a 2023 release based off the novel of the same name by Jimmy Taaffe.
